Office Manager
Is a hands-on manager who does not hesitate to jump in to help her team. She is compassionate, caring, and always looks for ways to improve our practice for employees, clients, and pets. When not at work, Laura can be found wrangling a toddler, or enjoying mountain time, kayaking, and hiking with her husband, daughter, and 3 pups.
Janelle
Assistant Office Manager
While she began as a receptionist, Janelle quickly became the shining light for Academy Pet Hospital’s team. Her recent promotion to Assistant Office Manager is a reflection of the dedication she shows to all clients, patients, and staff. Janelle goes above and beyond every day to support her team, provide guidance to clients in need, and give extra snuggles to every pet we see. “Some days, it is Janelle’s positivity that keeps me going”
Markie
Registered Veterinary Technician
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, Markie is trained to identify early signs of disease, care for patients under anesthesia, perform necessary medical treatments, and administer medications. While Markie is attentive to these responsibilities, her greatest strengths do not lie in her training- they lie in her connection with her patients and commitment to client education. Markie’s love of veterinary medicine is a beacon for all the new staff she trains, clients she connects with, and peers she inspires.
Alex
Veterinary Assistant
We are so excited to announce that Alex has returned to Academy Pet Hospital after a few years away! As the wife of a black hawk pilot, Alex spent some time in Virginia and then thankfully returned to Fayetteville and our team. We are joyful to have such a compassionate and goal-oriented person (she is currently in veterinary technician school) at our clinic! Please join us in welcoming Alex, her husband, and her 3 sassy cats back to NC.
Audrey
Veterinary Assistant
Audrey has a passion for the athleticism of dogs, animal behavior, and providing hands-on medical care to pets in need. As the newest member of our veterinary assistant team- Audrey demonstrates an eagerness to learn and share her knowledge with clients. When she is not being bitten (on purpose), you can find her decorating for Halloween- all year long! Welcome Audrey.

Veterinary Assistant
Have you seen this bright smile at the clinic yet? Bri’s positivity and eagerness to help clients make her a standout new employee! When she is not snuggling on cats at Academy, she can be found hiking, cooking delicious gluten free meals, and hanging out with her 3 dogs, 2 indoor cats, and 2 outdoor kitties. Mo
Veterinary Assistant
Our newest veterinary assistant, Mo, has a passion for soft tissue surgery, radiology, and golden retrievers! Born and raised in Washington DC, the military thankfully brought Mo and her Husband to NC, and subsequently to our team. Mo’s genuine laugh keeps her team uplifted throughout the day as she works diligently to ensure that patient care standards are on the rise. When she is not on the clock, you can find her working on her extensive garden, baking bread, cooking, and reading. Please join us in welcoming Mo to our team!
Ashley
Kennel Technician
With decades of veterinary experience, an eye for detail, and a compassionate heart- Ashley is a leader worth following at Academy Pet Hospital. Her stewardship of the boarding program has led to spectacular team growth and the elevation of our standard of care. As a true team lead- in addition to boarding, Ashley also oversees the maintenance of surgical equipment and assists in all areas of the hospital (including taking spectacular photos for our social media pages).
Melinda
Kennel Technician
Our newest boarding staff member Melinda is a powerhouse of animal knowledge and compassion! In addition to caring for pets here at Academy, she also manages a non-profit for special needs cats and is a mother to 3 amazing daughters. While snuggled up to her furry friends, she enjoys reading, gardening, and collecting Fenton glass. Please join us in enthusiastically welcoming her to our team!
Dawn
Receptionist
Dawn’s commitment to her team at Academy Pet Hospital extends more than a decade! Dawn’s bubbly personality comes with a deep and genuine love for our clients and patients. You can often find Dawn in the kennels giving snuggles and treats to all our furry friends. Whether in reception, helping in boarding, or assisting our technicians- Dawn’s soft heart is her biggest strength!
Jelisse “Jay”
Receptionist
Hailing from New York, Jay is part of our awesome reception team. Her confidence and ability to multi-task make her an asset to her colleagues as well as our clients. While she loves all aspects of her job, there’s a special place in her heart for our Pittie patients! Outside of work, Jay enjoys traveling, relaxing with her dogs, and being pampered.

Boarding
Without any pets of her own at home, Ashleigh has PLENTY of love to share with our boarding babies! Her patience with anxious pets makes her a standout staff member who is also efficient, attentive, and eager. When she’s not at work, she can be found hiking, exercising and baking in her spare time!
